Recorder Classes (for ages 16+)


BEGINNING RECORDER

Find your passion for the recorder by learning this timeless instrument in the comfort of a small group. Begin with note reading, fingering, tuning, and simple songs to play.  The recorder is the perfect instrument to keep your fingers moving and your brain active! 

Please bring your own recorder:  C recorder (soprano & tenor) or F recorder (alto & bass).  Aulos, Yamaha, and Mollenhauer brands are preferred (see links below).

Study materials:  Neuman Recorder Method book and CD.

INTERMEDIATE RECORDER

Enter the next level of the recorder’s repertoire, where the pieces are more challenging. Play in an ensemble where technique and musicianship will further develop.  The recorder is the perfect instrument to keep your fingers moving and your brain active! 

Explore playing both C recorders (soprano & tenor) and F recorders (alto & bass), or focus on one set of fingerings. Please bring your own recorders; Aulos, Yamaha, and Mollenhauer brands are preferred.

Study materials:  music is provided by the instructor

Pre-requisite:  Completion of the beginning recorder class or knowledge of fingerings (either C or F recorders) and an intermediate sight-reading level. Permission of instructor may be required.
