Discover Art Summer Camps (1st – 5th Grade)


Monday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM |   $170
Summer Camp is a hands-on exploration of art! At camp, your young artist will actively engage their imagination and creativity while discovering the beauty of art in everyday objects.  Projects will range through different creative mediums like glass, clay, painting, collage, fabrics, and reclaimed material art.  Friday, parents are invited to a Gallery Reception and Exhibition of works created by the artists at camp. So, come play with us and let art happen along the way!

DISCOVER ART IN NATURE
July 17th – 21st
Monday - Friday

Young Artists will work with natural materials to create outdoor installation-style art, and use mixed media to recreate the natural world. Expect to get messy this week as we work with dirt, paint, water, and plants to make some natural art.

DISCOVER ART IN INNOVATION
July 24th – 28th
Monday - Friday

Young Artists will learn how invention, creation, and experimentation can become works of art.  Designing inventions in the morning, artists will get the chance to experiment and test their creations in the afternoon.

DISCOVER ART IN PERFORMANCE
July 31st – August 4th
Monday - Friday

Young artists will get to act, sing, dance, design, and compose and original performance piece which they spend the week creating and rehearsing.  The week will conclude with a final presentation for friends and family.


After registering, please complete the Medical Release/Emergency Contact Form and send to jessi@chehalemculturalcenter.org by the first day of camp.

For each day of camp, bring a (nut-free) sack lunch, 2 snacks, water bottle, and sneakers to enjoy a picnic lunch, group games, and playground time.

*Please note, art can be a messy business so be sure to have artists dress appropriately, or bring an older t-shirt or smock.
