Urban Artist Showcase

Parrish & Central Gallery Exhibition

The Urban Artist Showcase is a taste of the vast diversity of artwork being created by contemporary artists. These artists either live or consistently exhibit their artwork in urban areas throughout the West Coast.

It was curated to highlight each individual artist's unique perspective and use of medium and method, while showcasing the unification of their work when placed in a space together. Artists were not asked to create a new body of work based on a similar theme; they were instead encouraged to submit artwork that represents their current artistic voice.

The diverse subject matter exhibited in this show ranges from communicating the chaos of an immigrant experience, to focusing on the simplicities of seemingly meaningless daily encounters. It highlights emerging student artists at Oregon College of Arts and Crafts, as well as respected curators and artists whose work has been exhibited nationally.
