Conversations In Clay

An Exhibition with Oregon Potters Association

September 2 - November 13, 2025 in the Parrish Gallery

Public Artist Reception: Friday, Sept 12 | 5pm - 7pm

Creating with clay is a collaborative process—one that begins with a dialogue between the artist and the material. While the final work may bear the artist’s name, it is the subtle exchange with the clay that shapes the outcome. But this is only the beginning of the conversation. When the potter and the clay are in harmony, the kiln and glaze continue the dialogue, adding their own voices to the finished piece. This exhibition is a reflection of those layered conversations.

In the Tri Family Lobby Gallery

In this exhibition, Ingemar Hagen Keith explores the relationship that people form with the objects they use most frequently. Her concentration on usable objects stems from the joy of seeing a piece being present in the everyday experience and how the inanimate is brought to life.
