GALLERY EXHIBITIONS
The Chehalem Cultural Center features around 5,477 sqft. of art galleries that are free and open to the public, putting us among some of the largest gallery spaces in Oregon. The goal of the center is to feature local, regional, national and international artists that create work in all variety of mediums. Our galleries provide opportunities for critical dialogue, and connecting our community with a wide variety of mediums, processes, concepts and themes. Exhibitions typically rotate every two-months.

Artists have always turned to the natural world as a source of inspiration—an inexhaustible wellspring of discovery and significance. Through art this show highlights the human experience of observing and studying the natural world, recognizing both the wonder and complexity that arise from our encounters with it.
The Bridges+ Project
A Willamette Tapestry Artists Exhibition

Public Artist Reception: Friday, Dec 5 | 5pm - 7pm
The Willamette Tapestry Artists project represents physical bridges and structures of architectural and cultural interest. The original project included bridges over the Willamette River, many of which are iconic landmarks around the metropolitan area and the “+” expands the works included to acknowledge some of the other buildings and bridges in Oregon. These tapestries vary in the techniques used and reflect the artist’s personal and artistic interpretation of the bridges.

In this exhibit, Pamela Quataert - artist, conservationist, and retired therapist - explores the same objects, views and experiences numerous times, allowing an exploration that is fresh and vital. Pam’s art is about observed relationships and rhythms and the paintings unfold as multiple layers are laid down.

Useful Thing brings together a body of sculpture and photography that reflects on tools, utility, and the spirit we feel in the objects of labor. Rooted in the artist’s year-long residency with A to Z Wineworks and REX HILL winery, these new works draw from the sensory world of winemaking, its materials, forms and craftspeople, to consider how we are shaped by the environments we build and inhabit.

Eduardo Cruz Torres is a self taught mixed artist and performer. He is the leader and founder of the Cultural Group Huehca Omeyocan Art, Music and Dance of the Cem-Anahuac (universe), and an active member of IDEAL PDX (Latino Artists Exchange PDX)since 2016. Eduardo has participated in IDEAL PDX and was a featured artist with GLEAN Portland in 2018.

In the Loft Gallery
In "Recent Works", Williford continues her exploration of suburban americana. These works coalesce 5 years of Williford's artistic studies of American photo archives - her own families and those of strangers.
