ART CAMPS

The Chehalem Cultural Center hosts art camp opportunities throughout the year for students to have week-long immersion in arts & culture!

Scholarship Process: Scholarships will be awarded starting May 4 for Summer Camps! We work very hard to honor all needs. We highly encourage families to apply early!  Learn more here.

HALF DAY CAMPS

Ages 3 - 5.5 | $180 /week

Monday - Friday, 9am-12pm

  • Our Art Adventure camps are hands-on explorations of art of all kinds! We will explore Bugs, Plants, Flowers, Trees, the Animal Kingdom and celebrate our Earth! Designed specifically for the youngest artists in our community, artists will actively engage their imaginations and creativity while discovering the whole spectrum of beauty that surrounds us in nature and inspires a world of art! 

    All campers must be toilet independent- please contact our Education Manager with any questions. 

  • Our Art Adventure camps are hands-on explorations of art of all kinds! This week we will celebrate our favorite books (Classic and modern), illustrators and characters from the literary world! 

    Designed specifically for the youngest artists in our community, artists will actively engage their imaginations and creativity while discovering the whole spectrum of beauty that surrounds us! 

    All campers must be toilet independent- please contact our Education Manager with any questions. 

  • Our littlest of artists will get to play, act, sing, dance, design, and create an original performance piece which they spend the week creating and rehearsing. From on-stage stardom to behind-the-scenes set design & stage crew, there is a role for every camper to experience the art of performance. The week will conclude with a performance with our Full Day Campers on Friday August 7th at Noon in our Lajoie Theatre! 

    All campers must be toilet independent- please contact our Education Manager with any questions. 

FULL DAY CAMPS

Grades K-5 | $260 /week

Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm, Friday 9am-12pm 

  • Our Discover Art camps are hands-on explorations of art of all kinds! Designed specifically for the elementary-age artists in our community, artists will actively engage their imaginations and creativity while discovering the whole spectrum of beauty that surrounds us in nature and inspires a world of art!

    Projects will range through different creative mediums like clay, painting, collage, fabrics, and reclaimed material art. The week will include art from recycled & found objects, theater games, story exploration, nature walks & more! 

  • Our Discover Art camps are hands-on explorations of art of all kinds! Designed specifically for the elementary-age artists in our community, artists will actively engage their imaginations and creativity.  A week of art & science experiments, STEAM celebration, robots, model making, paleontology and much much more!

  • Discover Art: Builder's Camp | July 27th-31st| Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm, Fri 9am-Noon 

    Grades K-5 (Ages 5.5-12) | $260 

    A week of creation, cardboard sculpture, construction- paper mache, collaborative projects, models, robots, fairy kingdoms, birdhouses, building challenges and more! 

    Our Discover Art camps are hands-on explorations of art of all kinds! Designed specifically for the elementary-age artists in our community, artists will actively engage their imaginations and creativity while discovering the whole spectrum of beauty that surrounds us in nature and inspires a world of art!

  • Young artists will get to act, sing, dance, design, and compose an original performance piece which they spend the week creating and rehearsing. The week will conclude with a performance for families combined with the Half Day Campers on Friday August 7th at Noon in the LaJoie Theatre! 

TEEN STUDIO SESSIONS

Grades 6-12 | $125 /week

  • Come grab some clay and learn to throw ceramic pieces on the wheel in our Ceramics Studio. Artists will learn the basics of wheel throwing such as centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Surface design techniques will also be discussed, and plenty of time given to help you create pottery that is unique to your style and taste! All materials provided. 

    Please enroll in only one Ceramics Session- choose either morning or afternoon- due to popularity and space constraints, students must only choose one session.

    Open for all levels: Beginner to Advanced--our instructors will work to meet you at your level!

  • Perfect for creative minds who love to play games, invent new rules, and explore how games work. 

    Ever wondered how your favorite games like Catan, Uno, or Dungeons & Dragons came to be?
    In this week long summer studio, students explore the world of tabletop game design—where math meets creativity and play becomes invention. Each session blends play, discovery, and creation. Students analyze popular games, explore mechanics like chance, balance, and storytelling, and design their own original tabletop game to take home and share.

    By the end of the series, participants will have:

    • Played and analyzed classic games

    • Designed, tested, and refined a prototype

    • Learned how game creators market and share their designs

    • Time for revision & polishing

    • Learn about marketing, virtual design & storytelling
