Character Creation: from Charlie Brown to Legolas and everything in between!
Ages 11- 18 | Mondays 4-5:30pm | Nov 3- Dec 15
Artist- Instructor Lillian Carver | $150/ session
In this Character Creation Course: you’ll be learning how to design and illustrate your own character. Whether it’s for a webcomic about your life, an illustration for your Dungeons & Dragons campaign, or fanart of your favorite anime character, the possibilities are endless!
We’ll learn how to use references to design and create illustrations of engaging characters that draw people in using a variety of mediums (including but not limited to: colored pencil, gouache, pen & ink). Great class to join if you love anime, manga, Cartoon Network, tabletop RPGs, graphic novels, and video games.
Creative Writing for Teens (Ages 12+) | Tues 5:30-7pm | Nov 4- Dec 16
Artist-Instructor: Annika Morse, $150/ session
If you like designing your own worlds and dreaming up new stories then this class is for you. This class will focus on creativity and thinking outside the box while also teaching the building blocks of writing a good story and how to edit your writing. Writing materials provided, bring yourself and your thinking caps!
Teen Book & Art Club for Ages 10-18 | Wednesdays 4-5:30pm | Nov 5-Dec 17
Artist- Instructor: Lillian Carver, $150/ session
A book and art club! This session we will be delving into the book A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin. The first session of this course- our class will take a field trip to the library to check out this title, and learn about the library's free resources. Over the course of six weeks the students will read the book in class and at home, accompanied in class by title themed creative projects: drawing fantasy maps, illustrating characters from the book, crafting story relevant items and so much more!

Explore and observe the beauty and wonder of nature through art. Create 2D and 3D projects using a variety of natural and eco-friendly materials combined with painting, printing and collage. Build skills and creativity in a fun environment with friends.
Art Club: Imagination Station for Grades K-5 | Tuesdays 4-5:30pm | Nov 4-Dec 16

Imagination Station encourages young artists to grow, create, relax, and have fun! Express your likes, interests, thoughts and feelings using a variety of art materials and techniques. 2D and 3D art projects are inspired by stories, artists, music, culture, and art prompts.

This club is all about trying new things and letting our imaginations soar! Through guided crafts and artistic exploration, our youngest artists will be free to learn, create and make a mess while having fun with clay, paint and much more!

Families work together to create extraordinary clay vessels and projects. Each week, families will create a different type of hand-built project. One spot will cover 1 Parent/Guardian + 1 child- students must attend with an adult guardian.

Spooky Sweets: Grownup & Me Cupcake Workshop (Ages 3-Adult)
Sunday Oct 19 | 2:30pm-4pm
Get in the spooky spirit at Cake Hoopla’s Halloween cupcake-decorating class for kids and their grownups. This hands-on, memory-making workshop is the perfect way to celebrate the season while bonding with a child in your life. Together, you’ll transform simple cupcakes into spooky (and silly!) edible art, including fondant eyeballs, ghostly figures, and creepy-crawly spiders. At the end, you’ll head home with six delicious cupcakes to show off (and enjoy!), plus new decorating skills to bring future baking projects to life.

Cake-Decorating Fundamentals for Ages 10-18: Autumn Harvest Cake
Sunday Nov 9 | 2:30pm-4:30pm
Designed for students who want to build a professional-looking cake from the ground up, this workshop provides confidence, creativity, and hands-on skills that impress long after class ends.
Working with a three-layer cake, students will practice essential techniques, like stacking, filling, frosting, and decorating, before creating a show-stopping fall design complete with fondant pumpkins and cascading autumn leaves. Each student will take home both a beautiful centerpiece cake and the knowledge to recreate the process at home.

Creating & Playing w/ Herbs (Ages 7-15) | Weds 4:15-5:15PM | Nov 5- Dec 17
Artist-Instructor: Mckaila Egan is the creator of Medicine Ghippsy
$120/6 week session, covers all materials, herbs, tools & culinary equipment
In this fun and hands-on class, kids will explore the world of herbs and nature!
They'll learn how to identify common herbs, make their own herbal teas, and create natural art and simple body care products like lip balm or bath salts.
Through creative projects, the kids will connect with nature, use their senses, and discover how plants can be helpful in everyday life.
Embroidery Club for Teens & Adults - Wednesdays 4-5:30pm | Nov 3- Dec 15
Your favorite pair of pants with the hole in the knee can be fixed! That sweater you always wear that makes you feel cozy year after year? It can be fixed!This course will teach basic sewing and embroidery techniques as well as focusing on experimenting with sashiko (Japanese mending).

Creative Threads: Fiber Collage for Teens - Thursdays 4-5:30pm | Nov 4-Dec 16
Ever thought about fabric as art? What about thread as a way to illustrate ideas? This class is about communicating ideas through fabrics, threads and found objects. In this class students will learn how to fuse fabrics, do free motion stitching on a machine, and utilize various embroidery techniques to create a 20” x 20” art quilt of their own design.

Lights, Curtain, Middle School presents: Supervillains Anonymous
Mondays, 4pm-6pm, Nov 3-Dec 15 | $200/session covers all materials, scripts, costumes
Brand new offering-- our very first theatre class in our brand new LaJoie Theatre! Be part of our inaugural middle school theatre performance troupe ending the session with a mainstage performance!
Every student learns essential theater skills, feels empowered in their own artistic ability, and participates in the group collaboration, whether on stage or off, of a one act play to be performed at the end of the term!

Come join us for this handbuilding and wheel-throwing class for young ceramicists, both new and returning!
For Kindergarten- 2nd Grade Only
Student led clay play with instruction. A hands-on introductory course that teaches our youngest learners foundational ceramic skills and practices. Students will learn how to build creatures and vessels out of clay. In addition to learning how to build ceramic pieces, students will learn how to view and observe artwork.

Come join us for this handbuilding and wheel-throwing class for young ceramicists, both new and returning!
For 3rd-5th Grades Only
Theme based and student led clay play with guided instruction. Building off the skills learned in K-2 Ceramic Club students will learn how to build bigger and taller handbuilt forms. Students will have opportunities to potentially throw on the pottery wheel.

Teen Ceramics w/Pottery Wheel Focus (Grades 6-12) | Thursdays 4:15pm-5:45pm | Nov 6- Dec 18
Learn the basics of throwing on the potters' wheel. We’ll also explore hand-building techniques, glazing, and surface design with a “creature” theme.
