CPR was founded in 2011 by performance artists, Kymberly Herbst and Donna Gentry - both trained actresses, one in California and one in New York.  Desperate for good indoor theater at their doorstep, they decided to start a company right at home in Newberg, Oregon.  Their first season was a great success and this year they will continue to bring more interesting and unconventional theater to a community already rich with culture.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Directed by Gavin Knittle
Cast – Gerry Birnbach, Donna Gentry, Jason Weed and Alexandria Casteele

March 24th - April 9th

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is the Award Winning 1963 play written by American playwright, Edward Albee and made famous by the movie starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It tells the story of a marriage in serious decline on one night in September of searing fun and games.  George, a middle-aged associate professor of history at New Carthage College, is married to the president‘s middle-aged lush of a daughter, Martha. It is 2am Sunday morning after a faculty party when Martha invites newcomers, Honey and Nick over for a nightcap.  As the morning wears on, fueled by even more alcohol, George and Martha take on one another, as well as their guests. What begins as sharp-witted banter devolves into double entendres and jabs. Deep secrets and vulnerabilities are revealed, old wounds exposed and lives tossed about.
Spend an unforgettable evening on an emotional rollercoaster that is wickedly funny. Albee’s exact weaving of comedy and tragedy makes for an unsettling but highly entertaining evening.
