CHEHALEM PLAYERS REPERTORY – CPR
Chehalem Players Repertory was founded in 2011 by performance artists Kymberly Herbst and Donna Gentry - both trained actresses, one in California and one in New York. Desperate for good indoor theater at their doorstep, they decided to start a company right at home in Newberg, Oregon. Their first season was a great success and this year they will continue to bring more interesting and unconventional theater to a community already rich with culture.

THE SUNSHINE BOYS
by Neil Simon
Chehalem Players Rep is proud to present another winner by that Comedic genius Neil Simon. If you liked CPR’s The Odd Couple, you’ll love The Sunshine Boys.…The New York Post wrote: “It’s ham on wry…Simon’s sure footed craftsmanship and his one liners are as exquisitely apt as ever.”
The play follows Al Lewis and Willie Clark: The team of Lewis and Clark was once a successful comedy duo known as The Sunshine Boys. Al retires from show business, while Willie struggles to keep the fire of a comedy career solo. After a 43-year run, the animosity brews between these two vaudeville partners until they break up the act and no longer speak.
But then, along comes nephew and talent agent, Ben, who encourages them to reunite for one last time. Willie struggling with memory loss and Al still the same old same old, agree to do this one last show. How well are The Sunshine Boys going to fare, in trying to get the old act together? Come and find out!
It’s an evening of fabulous entertainment that only Neil Simon can provide.
